Churchill ARK

The Churchill ARK was a Churchill tank from which the turret had been removed and two timber trackways were placed.

1. The ARK (Armoured Ramp Carrier) was a turretless Churchill with ramps at either side.

2. A Sherman of the 79th Armoured Division using a Churchill ARK to climb over 
an escarpment during trials in the UK. The ARK scrabbled itself as far up 
the escarpment as it could manage before applying its brakes. 
The ramps were then released.
